The conference presented the current outlook of the polyurethane industry and discussed the development of innovative technologies that can improve the performance of polyurethane.

A panel discussion between Prof Weizsäcker, Johannes Remmel, Ministry for Environment in North Rhine Westphalia, Dietmar Kopp, Head of Division “Chemicals and Pharmaceutical Industry” at Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Ilka Freifrau von Boeselager, Member of the Parliamment in North Rhine Westphalia took place, which exchanged views about the right balance between regulatory actions and entrepreneurial environment. It is also important to notice the statement by Mr Kopp, who explicitly mentioned the project on di-isocyanates by the German Authorities as a very good example of cooperation with industry and which could become a role model for other substances.

They all commended the industry for its initiatives and its cooperation with regulators and noted that this is the track to keep in coming years.
